Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to turning the state into Africa’s Silicon Valley through technology-driven initiatives and skills development.
He made the commitment during the graduation ceremony of the Anambra Startup Investment and Technology Skills Programme held in Awka.
Speaking at the event, Governor Soludo stressed the urgent need to integrate technology into every sector of the economy and every level of governance. He noted that as the world evolves rapidly, young people must be equipped with the right skills to thrive in the digital age.
According to him, the vision is driven by a strategic imperative to secure the future of Anambra and its people, rather than mere political considerations.
The governor highlighted ongoing transformative programmes such as the Solution Innovation District (SID) and the 1 Million Anambra Digital Tribe, which he said are building a strong foundation for a technology-driven and globally competitive economy.
He congratulated the graduates, including those trained in robotics and ISO network engineering, for their dedication. He also commended partners and sponsors for their contributions to strengthening Anambra’s innovation ecosystem.
Governor Soludo stated that Anambra is steadily emerging as a leading destination for technology, innovation, and digital enterprise. He pledged to sustain the momentum and create more opportunities for future generations.
The graduation ceremony marked another milestone in the state’s efforts to build a vibrant startup and technology ecosystem.
