Former Anambra State Governor and 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has been officially affirmed as the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 general elections.At a special national convention of the party, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson presented the NDC flag to Obi, formally ratifying him as the party’s flag bearer.

The symbolic presentation of the party flag took place during the NDC’s Special National Convention. Dickson, a former Bayelsa State Governor and key figure in the party, handed over the flag to Obi in the presence of the National Chairman and other leaders. Speaking after receiving the flag, Obi accepted the nomination and immediately announced former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as his running mate for the presidential election.
